You'll need to attach the template to the actual email by replying to the post notification email.
However, when you refer to 9400, computations it seems that you may be using an outdated version of the template. The latest version does not have the notion of iterations (computations) as it uses a folding convergence algorithm for optimization which is also much faster. You can download this from here.
Depending on the version of Excel, the progress bar can freeze during parts of the optimization but this should not lock the entire system.
If the process does not end when leaving it to finish, then please advise on the version of Excel and number of assets for optimization.
