ConfusedHi All,
I am trying an excel experiment and I would appreciate some help. I have opened a spreadsheet with figures on it, I have taken a print screen of that sheet and then I have pasted that print screen to a second excel spreadsheet.
My query is, is it possible to make the second excel spreadsheet read the figures of the print screen and hence allow me to analyse the data within the second spreadsheet. I don’t think it can be done but I would love someone out there to prove me wrong.
(TIP: if, within (say) box A1 on an excel sheet you have a number that excel recognises as a string and not a number, you can trick excel into recognising it by typing (in another box) the formula “=A1+1-1”. The result is the same number but with excel recognising it as a number)
Any help with this query would be greatly appreciated. Thanks In Advance for all responses.

To extract the text from the print screen image, you would need an optical character recognition (OCR) solution (e.g. http://www.simpleocr.com).

It is curious as to why you would want to create and image first and not simply link the two spreadsheets to make the analysis.
