Custom Autoformating?

ConfusedI am given data in an unformated spreadsheet several times a day. I don't want to have to format each spreadsheet by hand each time I get one.

How can I either make a custom auto format and apply it to the spreadsheet, or make a template that I can apply to the spreadsheet?

I can think of 2 options for this:
  1. Create a template with the formatting that you want, then copy and paste special > values from the spreadsheet received into it to get the correct formatting for the data.
  2. Record a macro to do the formatting tasks in a separate workbook.  Open this workbook when you receive a spreadsheet and run the macro over the received spreadsheet to do the formatting.
Of course, both of these options assume that the formatting task is the same for each spreadsheet received.
